Nottingham Forest have already splashed out £24m on 11 new faces this summer, including £13.2m record-signing Joao Carvalho – and now they want to add Sam Byram from West Ham United. “He’s one on the list,” Aitor Karanka said. “We have been working since May to try and build a good squad.” On Saturday, the Forest manager warned his new flurry of recruits that they have no time to bed in:
The players from abroad are realising that the Championship is really tough; it is not the Champions League, Portuguese league or the Spanish league, it is really tough and everybody has to realise that we need to fight with the same intensity.
